Breeding Program

Romagnola Beef Genetics encompasses the renowned Hamilton Park, Remus and Italia stud prefixes. Hamilton Park and Remus were developed by the late John Onley, his wife Jill and their daughter Anna.

The breeding herd consists of 270 quality Romagnola breeding females. The herd consists of a line of purebred Romagnola cows upgraded from a base of stud Brahmans that have been continuously crossed back to Romagnola bulls, as well as cows whose pedigrees are full Italian breeding. These cows combine the best attributes of the Brahman breed with the power of the Romagnola to produce sale bulls that will adapt to any environment with progeny suited to all modern beef markets.

All females have been selected for their constitution, breed character, temperament, structure, fertility and genetic diversity and are mated or inseminated to specifically selected bulls from our powerful battery of home bred and imported AI sires.

The Romagnola cross females are extremely fertile, very good mothers, clean coated with very little problems with udders and teats.

They have a bit of extra thickness and bone which I like, and they have good quality calves.
