Eskimo Joe was a real favourite with all who met him! Not only did he have bone, softness, fleshing, style and correctness, he would have to be the quietest bull we have bred. At 4 months of age he came in to the yards for the first time to be branded and promptly walked up to us for a scratch.
His mother was a Viper daughter out of one of our strongest cow families. A76P is still in the herd having had 8 calves in 10 years. Her only issue is she has only had 1 heifer! It was important to us to retain a bull from this line and Eskimo did not disappoint.
Eskimo was sashed Grand Champion bull at the 2011 Ekka and was retired from the showring after his Grand Champion Bull win at Beef 2012.
His sale bulls are keenly sought after and are real chips off the old block…quiet, extremely stylish and solid.
His first calf Harriet was sashed Senior Champion Female and Grand Champion Romagnola Female at Beef 2015. She is what we describe as the “New Generation Romagnola”; she will live anywhere with a beautiful maternal outlook combined with thickness, muscle, heaps of milk and bone. All the reasons why we breed Romagnola cattle.
Tragically we lost our much loved “Esky” unexpectedly late in 2015. This has made his 4 seasons of heifer calves extremely important. They are outstanding heifers and brilliant mothers. 2016 will be the last big draft of Eskimo sons and we would recommend them strongly to our clients.
